I think it's really
important that we're extremely careful as to what relief funds we donate
to. I definitely don't want to advocate sending your money to fake companies
or false relief services. There's alot of controversy as to where you
should send you money if you really want it to help the victims of September
11th. Therefore I'm not going to list any specific places you should
send money. I will only grant this advice, do your research, and only
send to organizations that have publically proven they have distributed
money to the right places and for the right reasons. I apologize if
this seems disappointing. But unfortunately, we don't live in an honest
world. If anyone wants to contact me about this, please feel free to
do so. I can't stress ENOUGH,
how important Volunteers are to our area. Without the kindness of these
people, MANY of those affected by the tragedy would've never been able
to get through it. I found an organization that I really feel is doing
something positive for the people of NYC and NJ. It's called Project
Liberty. I encourage everyone to help them out, or even give them a
call, if you need help for yourself or a loved one. Let's
also not forget other ways you can help the world be a better place,
check out these other services and organizations created to help those
in need. The Student Volunteers
Council
is a student-led organization that promotes an ethic of community involvement
and works to foster and strengthen partnerships within our community.
